Parents & Community

Hey! Thanks for checking us out.
We think your kids are AWESOME!

Thanks for trusting us with your teens. It isn't easy to let them go and hang out with people you don't know very well. Hopefully you have (at least) met the Young Life leaders at your school. Don't be afraid to stop a YL leader and get to know them! We think they are pretty wonderful people.

We have high standards and screening for selecting someone as a YL leader:

  • Application and references
  • Our Area Director interview
  • Official background checks
  • Faith & Conduct expectations signed
  • Required volunteer training & accountability implemented through monthly team meetings

Keeping Kids Safe

An important part of our committment to kids is how we keep kids safe. Our staff and volunteer leaders know they are responsible for modeling lives of hope and integrity.Young Life's Human Resources department has developed missionwide policies and procedures to ensure that kids are protected when they are with Young Life staff and/or leaders as well as when kids are part of Young Life's sponsored activities.

How can I be involved as a parent?

Even though Young Life is especially for kids, parents and other adults in the community are important to Young Life. Adults can support Young Life in a variety of ways:

  • Become a volunteer leader
  • Become a committee member
  • Attending or volunteer at a Young Life fund-raising event
  • Host a Young Life Club in your home
  • Or simply tell others in the community about Young Life and its commitment to kids!
